Research

The Applied Computer Science Group deals with

  • the development and analysis of algorithms, especially numerical algorithms,
  • the use of such algorithms in applications, particularly simulations in physics,
  • parallel computers as high-performance tools for simulations,
  • computer-aided proofs in analysis using interval arithmetic.

Our main focus are algorithms of numerical linear algebra and numerical methods for Lattice QCD simulation, as well as implementation of these methods on powerful parallel supercomputers and fundamental questions about accuracy and reliability.
